Returning Women's Mentoring Program
A growing number of women at Boise State University are coming back to school after a formal break in their education. Sometimes these women are referred to as "nontraditional students," but there is nothing nontraditional about their growing numbers and abilities to succeed. Recognizing that this is a vital time of transition, the Women's Center created the Returning Women's Mentoring Program to provide these students with additional resources and support services.
The primary purpose of the Mentor Program is to provide support and information to new women students returning to college after an interruption in their formal education. Mentors are valuable campus leaders who can help create a welcoming environment for new students in efforts to ease their transition and increase the likelihood of retaining them.
